What is Paracord Rope?

Paracord, also known as 550 cord, is a versatile and durable rope made from nylon fibers. It’s perfect for all sorts of DIY projects, and can be used in a variety of ways: as a Braided Rope, Twine, or Sling.

Here’s a breakdown of some of the most popular uses for paracord:

-Making a Braided Rope: Start by threading one end of the Paracord through the other end several times. Make sure the strands are tight against each other so that it forms a strong knot. Then pull on the ends to create a braided rope.

-Making an Emergency Bracelet: If you find yourself stranded with no access to supplies, It can help you build an emergency bracelet. Cut two equal lengths of paracord—each about 18 inches long—and tie one around your wrist (like a watch band).

Knot the other end securely to something sturdy like a tree branch or rock. If you need to untie your emergency bracelet in an emergency situation, simply pull on the free strand until it breaks.

-Using Paracord as Twine: In addition to being able to make emergency bracelets, It can also be used as twine when repairing things around the house. Simply cut off what you need and tie it together with regular knots or twists. You can even make small fire starter laces out of paracord by braiding it together and then tucking the ends inside your shoes or boots.
